My silver clay journey...
I'm a metalsmith and started creating jewellery from silver sheet and wire and my first experience with metal clay was catastrophic. It took me a few years before I revisited metal clay and attended a course with a PMC instructor. I created my first leaf and pendant and I was hooked! Soon after that I studied to become a PMC instructor. I love the organic shapes that you can create with metal clay and all the texture it can capture. Since I first started out with metal clay, I have learned that there are projects where I prefer clay and others where sheet/ wire works best. I now also have a good number of techniques so that I'm not so limited in creating with clay, and thankfully I have a lot more to learn which is my biggest driving force - I love learning!
Favourite silver clay technique…
My favourite technique would be texturing, it's so easy and creates a lot of impact.
What excites me most about silver clay...
What excites me the most is that you can create complex organic shapes in seconds!
