Accredited  Senior PMC Instructor Andrew Thomson has been making jewellery for almost 43 years including his own successful jewellery collection. Andrew has worked in many countries including  The Cayman Islands, USA and Brazil  enabling him to obtain many different techniques throughout his career. His endless patience, passion for PMC and willingness to share his knowledge with others make him one of the most experienced metal clay teachers in the UK.

 

Course: Precious Metal Clay Jewellery

General course; suitable for beginners and those with some experience. During the course you will be able to make a small pendant or several charms to your own design. You will learn how to roll, texture and cut the clay. Once you have made your design you will refine your piece prior to firing and polishing. 

Time: 10am – 3pm including one hour for lunch

Cost £ 85 per person including vat and a pack of 7g PMC3 clay.

Course: Certification Module A

New Style Certification Programme for those who have completed the Introduction to Precious Metal Clay course or have previous experience in using metal clay.

Projects/Techniques        

    • Band ring – Learn how to make a strong, durable ring that will withstand daily wear.
    • Decorated bead - Make a stunning solid decorated bead.
    • Stud Earrings – Combine the beauty of PMC with the strength of Sterling Silver to create a pair of earrings.

    *Clay allowance: 16g PMC3 and a PMC3 Paste

    Course: Certification Module B

    New Style Certification Programme for those who have completed the Introduction to Precious Metal Clay course or have previous experience in using metal clay.

    Projects/Techniques

    • Textured pendant - Includes creating your own moulds and simple gemstone setting.
    • Domed bead/pendant - Make a hollow bead using our dry construction technique. Can also be worn as a pendant.
    • Ceramic or glass cabouchon - Combine ready fired ceramics or glass cabouchons with PMC to make an unusual pendant.
